On the 5th of November 2024, the Baltic MUPPETS Innovation Call is launched!
The call objectives are to pilot and test mussel farm technology, and support market entry of products. The challenges identified are based on real-life cases from the partners in the project.
Selected projects can receive up to €50.000, and run for maximum 5 months between 1st of March 2025 and 31st of October 2025.

Challenges
The challenges to be addressed by applicants are clustered in two clusters:
Cluster 1: Testing and piloting
Challenge #1.1 Test solutions for submerged farms – Assessment of durability and stability of ropes.
Challenge #1.2 Test solutions for submerged farms – Regulatory requirements, such as marking systems to document ownership.
Challenge #1.3 Pilot the solution for submerged farms – New logistic solutions for harvested mussels.
Cluster 2: Feasibility study, market study, business strategy
Challenge #2.1 Strategy on how to overcome barriers to go to the market with new mussel products.
Challenge #2.2 Strategy to increase consumer acceptance for mussels products.
Challenge #2.3 Go-to-market strategy with assessment of willingness to pay for mussel products.
Challenge #2.4 Recommendation for certification to improve mussel production.
Challenge #2.5 Sales of goods and services from mussel farming.
The call opens at 12:00 CET on 5th of November, 2024. The deadline for submissions is 17:00 CET on 14th of January 2025. All applications are submitted through the F6S platform.
